Aviation & Aerospace Magnet Program

In our Magnet classes, we take learning above and beyond. Right now, students are exploring Forces and their connection to aeronautics. We design and building rockets. Yes, we’re studying “Rocket Science” and having fun while doing it!
Annual Magnet Evaluation: We are proud to share that in 2024, our Magnet Program earned an outstanding 92% evaluation score, and in 2025 we reached 105%, setting the bar for excellence among Magnet programs in the district.

If you're interested in enrolling your child in the Aviation and Aerospace Magnet Program at Sally Ride Elementary, or exploring middle school magnet options for your 5th grader: Now is the time to act!
✅ Current Magnet Families:
If your child is already in the magnet program, you do not need to apply again. Your child will remain in the program as long as they are at Sally Ride and follow magnet expectations.

🛫 How to Apply for the Magnet Program:
- Visit the OCPS School Choice website: https://www.ocps.net/magnet-programs-home
- Have your child’s 10-digit student ID ready.
- Submit one application per student and rank your choices.
- Apply between Oct 13 – Dec 19, 2025.
📩 If offered a seat, complete registration at the school by the deadline in your acceptance email.

Chess Club- Every Friday at 7:45 AM
Chess Pawn Tournament- October 17 at 7:40 AM in the STEM Lab
STEM Club- Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 AM and sometimes at 3:15 as well.
Super STEM Saturday Competitions- December 6, at Apopka High School
Blue Club - for 4th and 5th grade members- Every Friday at 11:30 AM (Berriz's Lunch Time)
