Principal's Message

flores

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am happy to welcome you and your child to Sally Ride and the 2018-2019 school year!  The elementary years are a critical time of development for students and I look forward to working with you to make this year a successful one. Academic emphasis in the content areas of reading, math, writing, language arts, social studies, and science will be a priority.

Our faculty and staff are committed to working as a team with students and their families to accelerate student academic progress. Research clearly supports that when parents/guardians are involved in their child’s education, there is a greater likelihood of academic success for the child. Education is a partnership between the school, students, parents/guardians, and the community working together towards a common goal; to be the top producers of successful students in the nation.  I encourage you to become an active participant in our school community through volunteering in the ADDitions program, joining our Parent/Teacher Association (PTA), becoming a member of our Student Advisory Council (SAC), or attending school events. Together we will ensure academic excellence at Sally Ride.

I would like to invite you to visit our school’s website and subscribe to our emailing list and to “Like Us” on Facebook. We welcome all our families to a new exciting and productive school year. I look forward to working with you on this journey of accelerating student academic achievement. Thank you for all you do.

Warmly,

Raquel Flores
